9 proper celeb-spotting opportunities at this year's Dublin Film Festival
A GALAXY OF STARS will be arriving in town over the next week as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
JDIFF was officially launched last night with a glitzy gala premiere of The Price of Desire, a biopic of Irish designer Eileen Gray.
Along with scores of film screenings, workshops and panel discussions, they’re really packing in the celebs this year. Here’s where you can spot all the big names on the programme.
Aidan Turner and Robert Sheehan

Love Aidan in the The Hobbit and Poldark? Miss Robert Sheehan’s blue hoodie popping up on Love/Hate?
You can see both Turner and Sheehan talking shop at a special panel, Expressing Emotion: Actors in Conversation – it’s going down at the Teachers’ Club on Parnell Square at 3pm next Tuesday, March 24.
Alan Rickman

Snape – sorry, Rickman – will hit the festival on Saturday, March 28 to attend a screening of his second film as a director, A Little Chaos.
It’s sold out, but hang around Cineworld on Parnell Street and you MIGHT catch a glimpse.

The Sex and the City star has two films screening at the festival, Sensitive Skin and Meet Monica Velour.
She’s doing a Q&A at the former (tickets are still available) – that’s out at Movies @ Dundrum Shopping Centre on Thursday March 26.
Sir Kenneth Branagh

Branagh is attending the festival in his role as the director of Disney’s live-action Cinderella, which is getting an airing tomorrow, Saturday March 21.
Tickets are still available for the screening itself, but if you just want to catch a glimpse of Ken, park yourself outside the Savoy Cinema on O’Connell Street.
Russell Crowe

Again, the Savoy is the place to be if you want to see Russell Crowe – he’ll be attending the Irish premiere of his directorial debut, The Water Diviner, tonight at 7.30pm.
We wonder if someone will mortify themselves in front of him again…
Ryan O’Neal

The veteran actor will be all over Dublin during his visit to the festival – first, he’ll hit the Light House Cinema on Friday, March 20 to host a Q&A on his 1972 film What’s Up Doc.
He’s also in the Savoy the following day to present a screening of Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon. A busy man.
Saoirse Ronan

The Irish actress, who’s been tipped for big things following this year’s Sundance Film Festival, will be attending a screening of her new film Lost River (which is also Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut).
Find her at Cineworld Parnell Street on Saturday, March 28.
Julie Andrews

You have a lot of opportunities to spot the luminous Julie Andrews – firstly, you can still snag tickets to her public interview in the Bord Gáis Theatre on Saturday, March 28.
But your best chance to get up close and personal may be when she hits the Savoy Cinema on the Sunday for a gala screening of The Sound of Music.
Good luck, and good celeb-spotting to you all!
